Generation Solutions

GPC offers multiple options to energize a data center: 1) Stand-alone generation without a utility connect; 2) Baseload generation with a supplemental grid connect; or 3) Bridge power with the option to convert to back-up.  Configuration options include simple cycle, combined cycle, and cogeneration with waste heat capture for cooling, achieving all-in energy efficiencies of 85%+.  GPC's modular design and flexible PPA allows the data center to increase capacity and modify to a higher efficiency configuration over time, balancing speed to market with cost and sustainability.

GPC develops customized solutions that meet the needs of your data center.

Steel blades of turbine
Stand Alone On-site Generation

GPC designs, builds, owns and operates dedicated power generation for the data center which can be fully independent from the grid. With multiple levels of redundancy exceeding grid reliability, a utility interconnection becomes optional.

Compatible with:

Electrical Substation
On-site Generation with Grid Back-up

GPC provides dedicated onsite natural gas generation with an uptime guarantee.  If the data center also has a local utility connection, grid power can be used as back-up or to supplement the total energy requirements of the facility.

Compatible with:

Transmission Lines
Bridge Power that Converts to Back-up

GPC builds permanent power infrastructure that can convert to back-up power once a utility interconnection is established.

Compatible with:

GPC's customers have the optionality to evolve their generation configuration to a more efficient design over time, balancing speed to market with cost and sustainability.

Simple Cycle-Combined Cyle
Combined Air or water cooled
Simple Cycle Gas Turbine
Simple Cycle Natural Gas

Discrete aeroderivative natural gas turbines are used in a highly modular N+1 deployment to deliver reliable power in excess of grid reliability standards.

  • Total system efficiency of 37%

  • Energy Streams: Electricity

  • Scalability - 100 MW to 1 GW

Combined Cycle Natural Gas
Combined Cycle Natural Gas (Air or Water Cooled)

Discrete gas turbines convert exhaust heat to steam to drive secondary steam turbines.  This design offers higher energy density, efficiency and lower emissions relative to simple cycle.

  • Total system efficiency of 60%

  • Energy Streams: Electricity

  • Scalability - 200 MW to 1 GW

CCPC
Simple Cycle Gas Generation with Waste Heat Capture for Cooling
Simple Cycle with Combined Power and Cooling (CPC)

This design offers all the benefits of simple cycle and further uses waste heat from the gas turbine to operate absorption chillers to power a chilled water loop.  The data center can use cooling water and chilled water loops to meet internal cooling needs, eliminating the need for incremental power and emissions.

  • Total system efficiency of 75%

  • Energy Streams: Electricity, Chilled Water Loop, Cooling Water Loop

  • Power Scalability - 100 MW to 1 GW, plus additional cooling load

Combined Cycle Gas with Waste Heat Capture for Cooling
Combined Cycle with Combined Power and Cooling (CCPC)

Offering all the benefits of combined cycle and capturing remaining waste heat to run absorption chillers provides class leading energy efficiency. The data center can use the cooling and chilled water loops to meet internal cooling needs, eliminating the need for incremental power and emissions.

  • Total System Efficiency >85% (offers the lowest emissions profile for thermal generation)

  • Energy Streams: Electricity, Chilled Water Loop, Cooling Water Loop

  • Power Scalability - 200 MW to 1 GW, plus additional cooling load
